During their senior year at Carleton College in Minnesota, Natalie and a dear friend Bex started “The Campus Yentas.” They set up hundreds of college students on dates!

After leaving Carleton and moving to Minneapolis, Bex and Natalie found themselves wistfully thinking about their time spent matchmaking in college, and wondered if they could bring some matchmaking energy to the Twin Cities! They joined forces with yenta Naomi S. and launched The Modern Yentas (Twin Cities). They spent several years hosting speed-dating events (often joint speed-dating events and fundraisers for various grassroots progressive efforts) and setting folks up on dates in the Twin Cities!

Natalie moved to Chicago in Fall 2023 and reconnected with kindred yenta spirit, Naomi B. They decided to team up and bring The Modern Yentas to Chicago and started setting folks up on dates in Spring of 2024!

Yenta Natalie has been matchmaking since 2017. She is inspired by her parents’ love story– they were set up on a blind date in 1991!
When she’s not makin matches, you can find her having no volume control in public, cuddling with her friends, and accidentally knocking things over in the kitchen.

Yenta Naomi is proud to come from a lineage of yentas. She deeply admires her Grammy Radine, the original family yenta, who is still making the occasional match at age 90.
When not making matches, you can find Naomi jumping in the lake with her friends, debriefing everything with her sister and keeping tabs on who’s dating who in the wnba.
